Summer Teacher Arts Institute

Join us for our third annual SFAC Summer Teacher Arts Institute. This dynamic program is designed for teachers of all grades and subject areas who want to dramatically increase the quality of their arts-teaching.

Intended to maximize your professional and artistic growth, our program features specially designed:

  • Thematic, research-based, arts-integration seminars
    • Daily components of observation and participation in your choice of over 80 arts classes offered on campus every day
      • Specially designed adult Master Classes for professional educators in 6 arts areas
        • Individual Mentor Pairings with professional artists
          • Guided Reflection and discussion sessions with your peers from across the state
            • Attendance at a variety of evening arts performances
            • 4 credits of graduate level CEUs available through the University of Alaska Southeast.¬†

            Educators will have the opportunity to develop a compelling, interdisciplinary approach to teaching the arts, specifically tailored to their classroom.

            $500 Participation Fee*

            Housing: $595 for a shared room.

            On-Campus housing is full, but there are still spots available for the institute.

            *Grant-funded tuition, housing and transportation scholarships are available to some eligible MACP partner site participants.
