Music Auditions – High School

Students will be required to audition live on the first day of camp for chair placement. Auditions help teachers learn about the abilities of the students and are also used to assign parts within the ensembles. Auditions do not exclude students from participating.

Auditions take place on the first day of camp in the afternoon. Students will receive information about audition locations at registration. Students who arrive on campus after auditions are over will have the opportunity to make up their auditions in the morning on the first day of classes.

Chamber Orchestra and String Masterclass – High School
Seating Audition:

Sitka Fine Arts Camp’s Audition Requirements are based on the most current audition requirements for the Alaska All State Music Festival. The 2016 requirements recently changed. We prefer that students use the most recent requirements for their audition. These can be found on the All-State website here under “Orchestra Requirements”. Because the requirements changed so recently, however, students who have already begun practicing for their audition may use the old requirements, which can be found here.
